Great suggestions from everyone. In my opinion the biggest reduction in carbon footprint for a feed mill will come when transport of ingredients and finished feeds can be done using more energy efficient sources of transportation. Most feedstuffs and diets are moved using trucks that rely on internal combustion engines, mainly diesel. Modern clean diesel engines have a significantly lower carbon footprint than older diesel engines.

Improve equipment efficiency: Upgrade to energy-efficient equipment like motors, drives, and compressors.

Maintain equipment: Regular maintenance and lubrication can help equipment run at optimal performance levels.

Investing in newer, energy-efficient equipment is one of the most effective ways to reduce energy consumption in feed mills. Upgrading to energy-efficient motors, drives, and compressors can significantly lower energy usage, leading to cost savings and a reduced carbon footprint.
