Pelleting feed has multiple logistic benefits including improving feed flow through bins and less space required for storage. More Digestibilitie, low disease, low bacteria and feeding ret is too high then mash feed

Pellets are easier for animals to eat and digest.
Pellets help preserve the potency of vitamin A.
Pellets prevent nutrients from breaking down after mixing.
Pellets are less likely to be contaminated with undesirable substances.

Pelleting can increase palatability by masking unpleasant ingredient tastes and reducing ingredient sorting. Production efficiencies also improve as less feed is wasted and time allocated to eating is reduced, which allows more energy to be dedicated to growth

The main advantage of pellet feed is a greater feed intake by birds that should translate into better growth performance efficiency. However, the advantage of pellets can be quickly lost if the pellet quality is not good, which is generally considered when the fines exceed 10%. The nutritional composition and uniformity in pellets should be equal to that of mash feed. Remember, pellets are made from mash. So, it the mash has a poor homogeneity then the homogeneity is pellets will be equally poor. Poultry have a low ability to distinguish flavors so palatability in poultry species is usually not an issue. Pelleted feed of poor manufacturing quality, with more than 10% fines, is likely to results in similar growth performance as mash feed. Thus, the higher cost of feed pelleting can only be justified with a higher growth performance efficiency of birds.

Jeffery – well explained. Done correctly pelleted and crumbled feed for broilers should translate into savings for the producer due to the increased performance of the birds and increased profit. Done incorrectly there is no increase in performance and the producer sees no gain from the increased costs of pelleted feed. See attached.

Pelleted feed offers several advantages, making it a preferred choice in livestock and poultry farming. These include:<div>
</div><div>1. Improved Feed Efficiency:</div><div>Pelleting reduces feed wastage and improves feed conversion rates, as animals consume the entire pellet rather than selectively eating certain ingredients.</div><div>
</div><div>
</div><div>2. Nutritional Consistency:</div><div>Pelleted feed ensures a uniform mix of nutrients in each pellet, preventing animals from sorting ingredients and ensuring balanced nutrition.</div><div>
</div><div>
</div><div>3. Enhanced Palatability:</div><div>Pelleting can improve the texture and taste of the feed, encouraging higher feed intake.</div><div>
</div><div>
</div><div>4. Reduced Dust and Waste:</div><div>Pelleted feed generates less dust compared to loose or mash feed, minimizing respiratory issues in animals and reducing feed waste.</div> -
All the nutrients are bind together in a pelletized feed unlike mash feed so there is no segregation in feeding by the poultry bird. Also it’s reduces wastage of feed during feeding process unlike mash feed.

For those who are interested in this topic I would suggest you go to the Pelleting pdf n the Documents tab.

One of the advantage of pelleted feed is ensuring uniformity in the feed, each portion of the feed contain the same level of nutrients.

Here are few more advantages.
1. Improved nutrient intake.
2. Reduced waste.
3. Improved performance (such as weight gain and growth rate.
