  • Amylase – This enzyme helps in breaking down carbohydrates (starch) into simpler sugars, aiding in the digestion of grains like corn or wheat.

  • Protease – It breaks down proteins into amino acids, essential for the growth and development of chickens.

  • Lipase – This enzyme helps in the digestion of fats (lipids) by breaking them down into fatty acids and glycerol.

  • Cellulase – Although chickens do not naturally produce cellulase, some added cellulase in their diet can help break down cellulose from fibrous plant materials like grasses or hay.

  • Phytase – Phytase is essential for breaking down phytic acid in plants, which chickens cannot naturally digest. It helps release phosphorus and other minerals from plant-based feed, supporting healthy growth.

  • Gastric Enzymes (Pepsin) – Pepsin is produced in the crop and stomach, and it helps break down proteins into smaller peptides, which are then further digested in the intestines.
