This can be done using mechanical, electrical, or gas methods
Mechanica l: A captive bolt is fired into the animal’s brain using a gun.
Electrical : An electrical current is passed through the animal’s brain using tongs. Some systems also pass the current through the heart to kill the animal.
Gas. :
The animal is exposed to a high concentration of gas, such as carbon dioxide
Penetrating captive bolt – used on cattle, sheep and some pigs. A gun
fires a metal bolt into the brain of the animal, causing them to lose
consciousness immediately.
There are currently three main methods of stunning, namely mechanical, electrical, and gas stunning. Another method of slaughter according to Humane Slaughter Act is the religious or ritual slaughter.
