The ideal moisture level for most poultry feeds, whether mashes or pellets, is generally between 6% and 12%, with some sources recommending a maximum of 14% to prevent mold and bacterial growth. Maintaining a moisture content below 12-14% ensures feed quality, nutrient stability, and prevents spoilage during storage.

1. Enhance Growth and Feed Efficiency:
Additives like: Enzymes, probiotics, prebiotics, amino acids
Function:
Improve nutrient digestibility and absorption
Optimize feed conversion ratio (FCR)
Promote faster weight gain
2. Improve Gut Health and Digestion:
Additives like: Probiotics, prebiotics, organic acids, enzymes
Function:
Balance gut microbiota
Reduce pathogenic bacteria (e.g., Salmonella, E. coli)
Enhance digestion and nutrient uptake
3. Boost Immunity and Disease Resistance:
Additives like: Vitamins (A, C, E), selenium, herbal extracts, yeast products
Function:
Strengthen immune response
Reduce incidence of infections
Minimize reliance on antibiotics
4. Control Pathogens and Replace Antibiotics:
Additives like: Organic acids, essential oils, phytogenics, competitive exclusion products
Function:
Serve as antibiotic alternatives in antibiotic-free production
Reduce intestinal inflammation and microbial load
Improve flock health under disease pressure
5. Improve Meat and Egg Quality:
Additives like: Omega-3 fatty acids, pigments (xanthophylls), selenium, vitamin E
Function:
Enrich meat and eggs with functional nutrients
Enhance yolk color and shelf life
Improve meat texture and oxidative stability
6. Correct Nutritional Deficiencies:
Additives like: Minerals (Ca, P, Zn), vitamins, amino acids (lysine, methionine)
Function:
Ensure balanced nutrition
Prevent deficiency-related disorders (e.g., rickets, poor feathering)
7. Reduce Environmental Impact:
Additives like: Phytase, protease
Function:
Improve nutrient utilization
Lower excretion of nitrogen and phosphorus
Support sustainable poultry farming
8. Enhance Palatability and Feed Intake:
Additives like: Flavors, sweeteners, molasses
Function:
Increase voluntary feed intake
Useful in early growth stages or during stress.

Dry choking refers to the sensation of an obstruction in the throat, often a tickle or feeling of something stuck, without producing any phlegm or mucus. Wet choking, or drowning, occurs when a small amount of water enters the lungs and is not immediately exhaled, leading to a more intense sensation and potential for serious health issues, even if initially there was no water in the airway.
-
wet choking :the mash is brighter and smooth
dry :smooth but less lighter
prevention : ensure the die is evenly wear,or replace the roll shell .
-
Generally choking occurs when the the gap between roll shell and die is morethan 1mm.
dry choking occurred in pelleting without conditioning while dry process has conditioner included.

*Proper drugs dilution and mixing
*Accurate dosage calculations. i.e avoiding under dose and overdose usage of drugs.

Calcium and phosphorus are vital for animal bones, acting as structural components for strength and providing reserves for growth and egg production. Selenium is crucial for antioxidant function, thyroid hormone metabolism, and muscle health through its role in selenoproteins. Imbalances in Ca and P lead to bone deformities, rickets, and poor egg quality, while selenium deficiency results in muscle weakness, impaired fertility, and reduced antioxidant protection, impacting overall health and production.
