Extraction soybean meal is best for poultry performances.

Which process types of soybean meal is best for poultry performance? solvent extraction or expeller?

Thanks for sharing this.
It’s really educative and informative

First, lets make sure what we are talking about – “full-fat” whole extrusion relates to soybeans and it provides the advantages listed in the replies. When done correctly it provides a high protein high energy feedstuff. The protein content is the same as a soybean (34-38%), the lipid (fat) content will be the same as a soybean (17-19%). When done correctly the primary trypsin inhibitors will be destroyed/inactivated; the amino acids will not be denatured so will remain complete and will be nutritionally available; the fat cells will be disrupted releasing the lipid – the heat of processing will inactivate the lypoxigenase so the lipid will not oxidize. The product cannot replace SBM on a unit-to-unit basis as it has less protein so reformulation will be necessary – also the energy content is obviously higher, so again reformulation will be needed – an associated advantage is that there is no need for fat/lipid addition to the formula. Depending on the cost of SBM and soybeans there may be a cost savings in using full-fat extruded sbm.

Inaccurate Analysis → Flawed Scores: If the analyser (HPLC – MS) underestimates the amount of limiting amino acids like lysine or methionine, it will incorrectly rate a high-quality protein (e.g., whey) as lower quality. Conversely, overestimation could make a poor-quality protein appear adequate.
It will also interfere with Amino Acid ratio in the feed.
